HOOP EVENTS IN 2010

Hooping is more popular than ever and there will be even more workshops, classes and events all over the UK this year.

Keep an eye on the Hoopswhirled website for news of classes and events we are running in the coming months.
The Hoopdance Experience will be back with more workshops, too, and we will let you know when everything has been confirmed.

Our sister site: www.nakedhoops.co.uk offers naked hoops for you to decorate yourself.
The revised site went live at the end of February with a range of sizes and hoop styles available.

The year began with winter weather chaos, but we were undaunted and our first class took place on 6th January in Hornsey. With scheduled classes and courses in Hornsey, Woodford, City Lit (Covent Garden), SW1 (January only) and Havering, it looks like it is going to be a busy year!

Hoopgirl Christabel Zamor came back to the UK at the start of April to deliver her unique style of teacher training.
This year her Level 1 teacher training was held in London - at our Hornsey venue!

Hoopswhirled was involved with the Hula Hoops Hoopathon in a number of ways. We were contacted in connection with the filming of the commercial and it was great to meet up with so many hoop friends on that chilly January day at Alexandra Palace. Although a family bereavement meant we didn't get involved with the events in London on 21st March, we did get to Milton Keynes in time to register and take part in the World Record Attempt.
What a fantastic day in the company of the inimitable Janine from SpiritHoopCake, whose personality and smile gave the hoopers added impetus to do their best. Thank you, Janine, for being so enthusiastic and for encouraging so many hoopers!

In addition to direct involvement, Hoopswhirled classes - organised through Havering Health and Sports Development Team - provided the impetus to stage a Hoopathon event at Newtons Primary School in Rainham. Click here for more details.

The UK Hoop Gathering, which was an amazing event last July, has been incredible so far - we are gearing up for the third event, which is in August.

Hoopswhirled has been involved with a number of projects and we hope to do more with schools and young people generally as part of Change4Life and various other projects to get people moving. 2010 is a very exciting year!

Our regular once a month Sunday Hoop Club is continuing to attract hoopers from near and far and celebrated its second anniversary in February 2010! As with all hoop gatherings, people are encouraged to come and share space with one another and explore possibilities, whether for fitness, spiritual growth or just for fun. We can all learn from each other!
