Hoopswhirled - every new movement starts with a revolution!

HOOP CLASSES
Play - dance - sweat - smile!

CURRENT CLASSES:

Hooping has changed from a children's game to an activity for everyone. Hooping has evolved into a dance form with benefits for the mind, body and spirit.

While hooping you are exercising your body, raising your heart rate and deepening your breath as you move. One of life's paradoxes is that the more you move, the more energy you have (as you get fitter)!
The repetitive rhythms in the hoop can still inner chatter and help each of us embrace the present moment with calm and focus, while we learn to "go with the flow", de-stress and discover a sense of inner stillness.

The best way to find out about hooping is to pick up a hoop and experience it for yourself!
Drop-in classes are available intermittenly in Hornsey (north London), and until the end of February in Woodford (north-east London).

City Lit courses are all suitable for beginners, please visit their website to view all course dates and to book.

Beginner Hoopdance I (1 February to 7 March 2012)
This is a six week course which assumes no prior knowledge and is designed to help you build skills from the ground up. It is an introduction to hoopdance which covers many of the foundation moves and skills that will take you forward on your hoop journey. I have been developing some additional material and will be sharing this throughout the course. By the end of the six weeks, you have been introduced to hooping on and off the body, hand hooping and transitions and a variety of other moves you can practise at home, in the park, or anywhere there is room to twirl a hoop!

Beginner Hoopdance II
[ dates to be announced shortly ] - for hoopers who have completed Beginner Hoopdance I, or a similar course, and who are comfortable with waist hooping, moving a hoop to the hips and transitioning on and off the body (hand hooping).

Details of courses and classes are posted here as they are confirmed.

Coming to a class?
Use one of our hoops (we bring lots to each class!), or bring your own hoop, if you prefer.

If you can't get to a class to learn the basics, or specific moves, we offer one-to-one tuition.

Please with details of your requirement (and your location) to arrange a session (depending on available space).
I will shortly be able to offer one-to-one sessions in Hertfordshire.
Private classes, workshops and intensive learning experiences for larger groups can be organised at a location to suit you. Please email me to discuss your requirements.

Classes are taught by Diana Defries. Diana began hooping in 2006 and has been teaching since February 2007.
